I am a native of North Carolina and have lived in Asheville for over 20 years. I have an undergraduate business degree from Appalachian State University and an MBA from The University of Tennessee. I previously served in several different positions with different banks all covering the western part of North Carolina. I ended my banking career at a statewide community bank as the western region executive responsible for banking operations in the western part of North Carolina.
I am very involved in the community in Asheville having served on numerous boards and volunteered with many community organizations. I am currently on the board of the UNC Asheville Foundation, The Health Adventure (a health and science interactive museum), and the Asheville Parks and Greenways Foundation.
I have a wonderful wife Jamye, and a delightful daughter Katie. We enjoy traveling, hiking, and enjoying the mountains of NC. I am an avid tennis player and enjoy golf and mountain biking.
